Filature Nouvelle Orléans or F.N.O. is a large industrial plant that lasts from the late 19th century, situated near one of Belgium's major cities.
The cotton mill was founded in 1896 and the site was soon expanded with more buildings.
Exactly 100 years later, production stopped and everything left abandoned until now.
The city is searching a new destination for the biggest building and placed a new roof on it to protect it from further decay. Only a small part is in use now by the fire department.
At the deserted plant I had a 'far west movie' feel and to enter the large 4 floor Manhattan style building I was very lucky (one told me) because I found a door open instead of climbing a roof. The buildings are deserted and empty, you can find a lot of graffiti by local and other artists. The only place I did not see was the top of the tower because the staircase is collapsed.
