This orphanage was a very awesome place to explore. There is so much sad history on this property and 2 remaining buildings. The architecture in the woodwork and the ceiling was very interesting and beautiful to see. Houses and buildings are just not made like this any longer. In the basement was a series of tunnels leading from one building to another. Some of these tunnels are obviously collapsing making them impassable. Only a bed and a stove remain in the house that I saw. There were items in the other building such as a desk and a basketball hoop are all the remain of these children's lives.
It is said that this location is haunted possibly by the headmaster who was said to be murdered by the children he tortured. Of this rumor I cannot comment to but I feel this place is haunted due to my experienced at the orphanage. Some of the rooms in both the house and the other building had floors that where falling through. There where stairs missing in the stairway leading to the attic.
Nature and natural decay are taking this orphanage back and at some point it will be gone. I am glad that I got to explore this historical abandoned place before its gone for good. I am also glad that children are no longer placed in to orphanages like this one where they where severely abused. I realize some of the present day home children live in are no better than this orphanage. Documenting this place is my way of reminding us of where we have come from. Hopefully we will remember and not repeat these mistakes.
This place is a must see if you should get an opportunity before it is gone. It is pretty well hidden. I believe vandals have left it alone for the most part there was so graffiti but not a lot.
