This looks like a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean in real life.
On a tall limestone cliff, you can see the creative building in a place that doesn't seem like a possible place to build ... well anything. The place has old drawings inside the cave of old boats and dragons. Some say it's the Vikings that have made the paintings, but I don't know if they really went this far away from home. I found information that the paintings are a lot newer than that, maybe made by fishermen taking shelter in the cave.
In this cave you may also find the bird's nest of which a special kind of soup is made. The legend says that sailors were stuck here during a storm, and the only thing they found to eat was these birds’ nests. That's how it became a famous dish. The birds’ nests are said to be sold for 2 500 USD a kilo (!).
The water surrounding the cave is crystal green, and this is a great place for snorkeling and diving. Dolphins are often seen here, and the water is filled with beautiful colored fish.
This is more of a tourist attraction now, but it’s still abandoned and there are many little huts on the smaller remote islands of Thailand that are interesting to explore if you can reach them.
