De cokesfabriek stamt uit 1927/28 en had een gunstige ligging op steenworp afstand van verschillende kolenmijnen. Toen in 1963 de ovens werden gesloten bleef alleen het administratieve gebouw over.Het is ondertussen behoorlijk getrasht en er is ook brand geweest.
