The Great Dinorwic/Dinorwig slate mines.

You could spend forever and day walking around this place. You could also spend forever and a day waiting for the right kind of weather to compliment the surroundings...

The explore itself is so vast that you need a few days to cover everything. The site is cordened off with signs displayed but local dog walkers see people on the mine as the norm and dont give any hassle. Once in the terrain is steep and the drops into the caverns are large. There are plenty of caves and old slatehouses... each tier of the mine holds a new surprise.

To summarise the place into words is quite hard.

Tread lightly and watch your footing p.s there is no signal at the bottom of a shaft!
