One of the lucky few who have been able to visit this place so far. As soon as I heard about this place I wanted to go there as soon as possible.

The last electricity was produced here only a year ago. Since 2021, they have been busy dismantling it and preparing it for demolition. In fact, a section had already been demolished when we arrived here.

Knowing that workers still walk around in this factory every day, I chose a public holiday to plan our visit. And that was not a bad idea. We only spotted one person (probably security) but fortunately he did not see us.

Getting inside wasn't easy either as it was full of working cameras. But once we did, we could not believe our eyes. The electricity was working, the lights were on everywhere, machines were still running and everything was still super shiny and in perfect condition.

In a certain part of this factory, all the windows are coloured blue. That creates a blue glow over the machines. In combination with the orange lights on the floors below, you get a play of colours, tubes and machines. All this together makes this place really beautiful and very unique to photograph.

There is a lot to discover here. A beautiful control room for example.

We also found some kind of canteen with fresh tangerines. So yes, this place is not really deserted but take the risk or leave the chance.

Visit date   November 1 2021 at 10 hr
Visit duration   4 hours

I'm just going to start of by saying, this is one of the most surreal locations I have visited so far.

I tagged along with a friend who figured out where this place was located and once there the precautions to keep people out were VERY noticable (cameras, gates, locks, etc.. normally there is also security but we chose a holiday to visit so going in we saw no one.

Once we were in the first thing we saw was that all the lights were still on! It was like walking into a still completely functioning powerplant.

Because of the holliday we barely saw any security but spotted one guy walking whilst we were standing on a roof.

The place itself was HUGE and we walked around for hours but the most spectacular part is the tinted windows that give you the most mesmerings views.

If you want to visit, I recommend you be fast because they are preparing for demolation.
