This is one of my young days in my town where I grew up.

I will give some explanation to this extraordinary place but I will NOT share any location info, because this is a protected site.

Back in the days, when I was a little boy, I knew this place because of my grandma.
At that age I was not as interested in the background, when it was build, it's purpose, etc..

Now I remebered this place when looking for some locations.

This mill is a beauty where it's located and it's background is so cool, I could never imagine this is not known...

So, this mill is an exceptional wonder build in 1933 by a well known mill-expert. A small post mill on a high round brick base which measures about 15m. It used to have a wooden scaffolding but that has been decayed by time.
Structural I don't think it is so exceptional but this mill had more than one funtion.

This mill was used for five funtions if you can believe this.
It served as a flour mill, a hulling mill, a pump mill, and the first in the world to generate and convert electricity!!

This is officially the first and oldest existing wind turbine in the world!!!

It's a shame nobody is restoring this piece of craftsmanship.

In 1990 there was some hope for the mill to be reconverted but no luck...

Now it's just standing to decay by mother nature. Some local children used to vandalise this place too.

It's crazy that I found this information about my childhood urbex.

Never could imagine that this mill was such an important piece in history.

Enjoy my view on this place and if you ever find out this location, I ask you to, please, be respectful to this piece of history and enjoy the atmosphere of the time.

One love!
