First Visit: 14 August 2020 ca. 12 Uhr

Bei Charbonnage de Forte-Taille hoffte ich auch eine große Fahrzeugsammlung anzutreffen, doch dieses mal wurde ich leider bitter enttäuscht. Auf älteren Fotos sah man immer einige Fahrzeuge, quer auf dem ganzen Gelände verstreut stehen. Einige waren auf dem riesigen Außengelände, andere befanden sich in den enorm großen Hallen. Doch leider kam die Gemeinde bzw. die Regierung mir hier zuvor. Alle Fahrzeuge wurden wohl aufgrund neuer Umweltschutzgesetze vom Gelände entfernt. Der einzige der überlebte und zurückblieb, war ein in die Jahre gekommener Bagger, der in einer der Hallen verweilte. Jedoch ist auch seine Zeit auf dem Gelände, nur noch von kurzer Dauer, denn der Abriss ist schon in Planung. Trotz dieses Misserfolges, war es trotzdem eine sehr interessante und spannende Location. Alleineschon diese wahnsinnig großen Hallen zu erkunden, war die Reise wert.

Second Visit: 14 August 2021 ca. 18 Uhr

Da der Abriss immer näher rückte, wollte ich der Location noch einmal einen letzten Besuch abstatten. Zu meinem großen überraschen, hatte sich jedoch rein gar nichts auf dem Gelände verändert. Im Endeffekt ist es trotzdem nur noch eine Frage der Zeit, bis diese Location für etwas neues weichen muss.

After a very active day of doing locations we decided to make our last stop here and the only thing I could say at that time was "wow".

The way nature is taking over this place is absolutely beautiful. Everywhere you looked you just saw green in a what used to be very cold looking place.

Because of how the amount of time this place has been empty some places are really vandalized but the green really compensates for it.

This place is perfect if you're stressed out and just want to ground yourself and in nature for a short while.

Die ehemaligen Zeche "Forte Taille" in M*. Hier wurde seit 1755 Kohle gefördert. Eine Konzession wird am 14. März 1808 erteilt, dann 1827, 1895, 1897 und 1919. Eine weitere Firma wird 1865 gegründet und gräbt die erste Zeche in großer Tiefe, den Brunnen der Zukunft. Die SA Franco-Belge-Mine von Forte-Taille wurde im Oktober 1886 gegründet. Am 13. März 1930 erschien ein königliches Dekret, um die Nutzung der Konzession von Jamioulx zu genehmigen. 1950 wurde die Zeche von der Firma Fontaine-l'Évêque gekauft.
Der Sitz Epinois war das Opfer eines Feuers vom 30.10.1930, bei dem 5 Bergleute, darunter zwei Polnische und zwei Italienischer, starben.
Dieser Standort war der letzte einer langen Reihe im Besitz des Unternehmens. Sie ist 1935 geschlossen worden. Die Maschinen und Einrichtungen verblieben nach der Schließung noch einige Jahre in der Hoffnung, den Betrieb wieder aufzunehmen. Diese Hoffnung bleibt jedoch vergebens.

I visited this place on my first walk through this city.
I was lucky to be there when it was snowing!

Entering and finding this place is easy. Neighbors are chill to, they said hello to us when we left haha.

This was an old coal mine, the mines itself are closed but the building still stand proud between the houses.
It's a beauty of decay. And I will definitely visit this place another time
The random piano was a real surprise to find hahaha. Don't know whose that is though.
