I was just casing around old mill towns where my bf used to live and he already knew of a theater that had been shut down decades ago. Beneath it, they constructed a huge bowling ally, and a bar that’s at the end of a large hall.

We went up a long fire exit in the back of the building that led to a boarded up door. We cracked it open and immediately flicked our flashlights on. There wasn’t a trace of
Light. The first thing I noticed were the rows of
Antique seats. Immediately my eyes went to where they were facing to see the stage-except there wasn’t a stage. The seats had crap strewn everywhere; vintage popcorn bags, tarp, plaster crumbles. I even saw an overturned toilet seat so that was lovely. Below the seating was a large space (taking up where the stage used to be), of drop ceilings, which had caved in.

We had found a door that led to a giant hall. It was two floors with large, white columns and an iron rail at the top floor lopped with holiday garland.

We followed the long staircase to the second level which had a sign in desk. An old sign that was half hanging off of the door said “K Lanes.” After the open hall was another large, round shaped room also with a round, wooden bar. It was very difficult getting a decent picture in that room because of the light verses the shape of the room.

All of the doors on one side of the lobby area led to a bowling ally that had ten lanes. From
The bottom, you could notice the same caved drop ceilings, crumbing by the end of the lanes with the grid work all mangled and hanging, showing a dark space above.

It was surreal for my boyfriend because he had so many memories of bringing his children to the bowling ally. He wasn’t surprised it had been condemned however, because he mentioned that even back then, it was in rough shape. It had been quite a long time since he resided in the town.

The entertainment center was so vast and had so many cool features but impossible to photograph appropriately. I decided to come back on my own accord, even with a little light pouring in and a blinding rechargeable husky light, it was still dark apart from the lobby and bar area but at least I got
A couple snaps that I liked.
