This location opened in the 1970s and closed a couple of years ago. Before closing, we went swimming there during the summer holidays. People from everywhere in the vicinity came here, just to enjoy a quick swim. It was one of the last outdoor swimming pools in the area. However, after years of nuisance and a shortage of lifeguards, it eventually closed.
We had already stopped by a couple of times, but up until two weeks ago, there was no entrance as there's barbed wire everywhere and the gates are locked. Two weeks ago we decided to give it another try as they were talking about demolishing the pool. We got lucky as the revolving doors don't work anymore and we could just walk in.
Not much has changed since the last time we went swimming there. The pools are still filled with water and everything looks more or less intact. It seems as though you could just jump right in and go for a swim. The only thing that tells you that it is abandoned is the overgrown grass and the green water.
Even though it's a rather small location, it is cool to take pictures with the creepy clown.
