Bereits 1080 wurde hier das erste Krankenhaus erbaut und ständig erweitert.
1928 wurden dann der Bereich, in dem die hier zu sehenden Hörsäle stehen, erbaut.
Da der Platz im Zentrum der Stadt begrenzt war, wurde vor den Toren der Stadt ein neuer Campus errichtet. Dies geschah in 4 Phasen. Somit wurde der älteste Bereich bis zum Jahr 2021 komplett abgerissen. Inzwischen wird auch der Bereich, in dem die Hörsäle stehen, abgerissen und die ersten Wohngebäude sind bereits auf dem Gelände entstanden.
In diesen Räumen haben, in über 90 Jahren, etliche Generationen von Ärzten ihr medizinisches Grundwissen erlangt. Tausende von Studenten haben auf den harten und unbequemen Stühlen gesessen und den Vorlesungen gelauscht.
Die Universität wurde bereits vor knapp 600 Jahren gegründet. Allerdings war sie 20 Jahren, aufgrund einer Verordnung des Nationalkonvents.
Eines der Highlights hier ist zweifellos der riesige Overheadprojektor der Firma Leitz aus Wetzlar.
Im Nebenraum eines anderen Hörsaals, findet man noch ein weiteres Exemplar.

Composé de plusieurs pavillons, cet ancien hôpital universitaire est en plein démantèlement. Certains éléments seront apparemment conservés, comme cet impressionnant auditoire en bois au centre duquel se pratiquaient des autopsies. En revanche, le pavillon contenant les salles d'opération semble voué à la destruction. Un autre bâtiment négligé par la plupart des explorateurs contient de nombreuses chambres et des couloirs très photogéniques.

at the university
completely soaked by the rain, we went looking for the well-known operating room.
after some exploring we decided to do another building that was also there, until suddenly… damn… something much nicer than that well-known operating room.
an auditorium.
we can go home satisfied a little more now.
