Questo istituto grazie alla sua posizione, fungeva da sanatorio per i bambini affetti da malattie polmonari e che avevano bisogno di respirare un pò di aria buona.
Purtroppo con il boom economico e con il graduale abbandono di queste strutture, intorno agli anni '70 l'istituto cade nell'oblio.
