Upon visiting the massive campus of the former Letchworth Village, I encountered several buildings used for the hospital including hydrotherapy rooms, a morgue, synagogue, and a massive power plant with an archive room filled with hospital records. This is a must see

Letchworth Village is a former mental institution that closed in 1996 due to reports of abuse and neglect. The campus was simply left abandoned to rot. There are so many buildings to explore including a power plant and a synagogue! I didn’t encounter any people, besides a few deer I saw in the woods!

Overall, Letchworth Village is amazing! It is perfect location for pictures and exploring! I have been many times and each visit I find something new!

This is one of my favorite spots to explore in NY. It was the first hospital I explored, and the first spot I had a paranormal encounter. I HIGHLY recommend checking this place out. Especially the back building which was used as a clinic.

At its peak, Letchworth Village consisted of over 130 buildings. Today, only a few handfuls remain. Stepping inside the remaining buildings is like stepping inside a time capsule. Most things remain as they once were; scattered papers, beds, medical equipment, etc. as if they might come back someday and resume the horrifying experiments that took place here.
Walking around on a cloudy day intensifies the eerie feelings that the buildings and the property itself give off. Don't be surprised if you hear strange knocks, footsteps and disembodied voices...
