Springs park opened in the 1970s. It featured an Olympic sized swimming pool with concrete bleachers stacked high for fans and family to congregate in, an outdoor skating rink, kiddie pools, giant diving board, and a mini golf course (rumored). After a brief walk through the woods, you will come upon an opening to see all the bleachers and the pool. Once you walk down the bleachers, you can see the diving board in the pool has been tipped over and the pool has been completely covered in graffiti. There is vines growing over the diving board and the grounds surrounding the pool. To your right you will see a structure. It is mostly fallen down but you can see inside where it used to be a changing room/locker room/bathroom. On the opposite side of the pool, you will see three round shallow kiddie pools all next to each other. Further away from the kiddie pools, there is one largely dilapidated structure that I’m unsure of it’s purpose. You can walk around the pool and go underneath. Once underneath the pool you can peep out from a small window. You can also see a few very large metal vats/ drums that are now heavily graffitied but most likely used to filter and treat the water from the massive pool space. A quick walk through the woods will take you to an almost completely collapsed skating rink, better to look at and not touch as it seems unsafe and probably doesn’t have much time left. This park was once a booming area for families and friends but it closed down after Carowinds opened and took business away from Springs Park
