Onze tweede poging op deze locatie te bezoeken (bij de 1ste keer kwamen we aan terwijl de politie net van het terrein af kwam). We reden eerst voorlangs de locatie en zagen dat een herdershond vrij op het terrein liep. Deze herder zag een ander groepje urbexers staan op het parkeerterrein en heeft de hele tijd hun richting staan blaffen. De hond leek dus echt te zorgen voor bewaking van het terrein. We hebben het risico niet gelopen en zijn verder gegaan.

Our second attempt (at the first attempt we arrived when the police just came of the property). We drove by the location and saw a security dog on the property. On the parking lot another group of people was looking at the property and the security dog barked the whole time at them. We did not take the risk and went further.

Abandonnée depuis 2016 après avoir déménagé dans un lieu plus vaste, cette blanchisserie industrielle lavait et raccommodait les vêtements de travail et les uniformes de grandes entreprises comme Arcelor Mittal. Les bâtiments se répartissent en un espace de bureaux, un atelier rempli de machines à coudre et de vêtements à repriser et une énorme pièce où d’énormes sacs à linge sont encore suspendus. Une forte odeur de détergent industriel accompagne la visite et contraste avec le délabrement avancé du lieu…

A large laundry room with washed clothes, computers and sewing machines and a large room where all laundry bags are still hanging.

History:
This large laundry was responsible for washing work clothes and uniforms from large companies, including Arcelor Mittal. In 2016, the activities in the building ended and the company moved to a newer and larger building

Wij zijn er makkelijk binnen geraakt, wel grote kans dat mensen ons hebben gezien.. maar verder waren wij de enigste urbexers binnen.

Er wonen in het kantoorgedeelte zwervers, dus hiermee goed opletten.

Wel super toffe foto's kunnen maken en onze ogen uitgekeken ondanks vandalisme, er staat nog zat materiaal alleen staat dit niet meer op de 'oude' plek.

Echt een aanrader mocht je de locatie hebben.

Ik ben hier een hele tijd geleden geweest. Toen we tegenover de locatie op de parking stonden zagen we al meteen 2 mensen de hele tijd voorbij de locatie wandelen en opvallend kijken. Daarna zagen we ze naar de achterkant wandelen. Langs de voorkant konden we niet naar binnen daarom besloten wij ook naar de achterkant te gaan. Daar kwamen we de andere mensen tegen en zijn wij met hun naar binnen gegaan. Toen waren wij binnen. Na 20 min hoorde wij voetstappen in het gebouw die dichter en dichter kwamen. Daarom besloten wij in de kamer met de strijkplank te wachten tot die weg was. Terwijl wij zaten te wachten hoorde wij de voetstappen dichter en dichter komen. Uiteindelijk hoorde wij die persoon terug weg gaan en hoorde we allemaal kabaal. Daarna hebben we nog 10min gewacht maar we hoorde niks meer , dus hebben wij nog heel snel een beetje rond teken en besloten wij daarna terug weg te gaan.Toen wij voor de plaats stonden waarlangs wij naar binnen waren gegaan was de grote schuifdeur ineens dicht. Na een paar keer samen heel hard aan de deur te trekken kregen we hem terug open en konden we terug naar buiten via het beekje.

Big Laundry was een uitdaging. De locatie zoeken heeft wat tijd gekost en we zijn eerst een keer langsgegaan ter prospectie.

Eens je weet hoe je binnengeraakt, is het de klim wel waard.

Immense ruimtes met nog badlinnen en overalls van o.a. ArcelorMittal, een woongedeelte (redelijk getrashed), bureauruimte en sanitair. In het woongedeelte heeft nog een tijdje een kluizenaar gewoond, maar toen wij er waren, was hij niet "thuis" .

Bureau was de moeite niet meer, maar de ateliers wel & zijn zeker de moeite.

Ook de grote ruimte waar de waszakken nog hangen zijn een aanrader!

Toegang was redelijk goed te doen.

Morgens irgendwo in Belgien um 7.30 Morgens.
Da wir keine Lust hatten selber unsere Wäsche zu Waschen wollten wir heute mal in einer Wäscherei Nachfragen. Leider haben wir keinen angetroffen der unsere Schmutzwäsche wäscht. Aber dafür mega tolle Motive gefunden zum Fotografieren. Bin blauen waschsacke bis zum Wohnbereich und eine kleine näherei war alles vorhanden. Die Lokation sieht nicht sehr gut aus ,auch nach al die Jahren Aufgabe. Wir waren dort 2 Stunden und hätten noch viel länger bleiben können. Es lohnt sich definitiv.

Zeer mooie locatie, alleen een beetje moeilijk voor binnen te komen maar na even zoek en klimwerk ben je er, eens binnen zie je meteen de zakken met de kleren van usinor en arcelor.., ligt redelijk wat rommel op de grond maar valt nog goed mee, zeker een aanrader!

Der Ort ist für Leute die aus Belgien kommen bestimmt einfach zufinden. Für Deutsche eher nicht!

Der vordere Teil ist für mich eher uninteressant gewesen. Aber im hinteren Teil des Gebäudes befindet sich eine wunderschöne Näherei. Ohne Vandalismus. Ein schöner Ort.

Als je over een vreemde locatie hoort, awel dit is zo eentje! We zijn deze per heel toeval tegengekomen op weg naar huis, ligt naast een ontzettend drukke baan, en er geraken is ook al voor slimmeriken, maar eens je op het domein bent, beleef je echt vreemde emoties puur als je de buiten zit denk je: wat een rommeltje! Maar het voorste stuk leek echt bewoond, later op de avond ben ik via via ook te weten gekomen dat dit effectief ook zo is. Dus pas op! Maar eens in de wasserij ga je echt jaren terug in het verleden! De laatste opgehangen kalender dateert van 2016.. we zijn welgeteld 10 min hier geweest!

Beste bezoekers van Urbexshare,

Zoals ik al vaker heb gezegd, is het handig om goede contacten te onderhouden met bevriende urbexers. Zo kwam ik bij deze locatie terecht. Een bevriende dame vroeg me om deze locatie samen te exploderen.

De locatie ligt langs een drukke weg. Ik ben er zoals wel vaker gebeurt, heel vaak langs gereden. Zonder te weten dat hier ooit een grote wasserij was.

De locatie is ook veel groter dan je verwacht. We verkozen om het gedeelte waar het wasgoed werd binnen gebracht, als eerste te verkennen.  We zagen er grote zakken aan het plafond hangen, waarin het wasgoed werd gesorteerd. Ook waar het wasgoed werd gestreken, vindt U hier.

Wat we niet hadden verwacht, was dat er ook nog een tweede gedeelte was, waar wasgoed werd hersteld. Er waren tal van karren vol met wat leek gewoon nieuwe werkkleding van een staalbedrijf. Ze liggen er nog netjes ingepakt in plastiek.

Eigenlijk nauwelijks te begrijpen dat dit er zo staat?

En toen kwam nog een leuke verrassing. Ineens zagen we een naaiatelier met meerdere industriële naaimachines. Zoiets is dan echt mijn ding om leuke shots te maken. Wat ik dan natuurlijk ook gedaan heb.

Mijn verhaal begon met goede contacten met bevriende urbexers te onderhouden. Wel mij heeft het nu al talrijke mooie locaties en foto's opgeleverd. Dit is er weer een mooi bewijs van.

Geniet van de foto's terwijl wij alweer bezig zijn met een volgende locatie te onderzoeken.

Dear visitors of Urbexshare,

As I have said before, it is useful to maintain good contacts with friendly urbexers.  That's how I ended up at this location.  A lady friend asked me to explode this location together.

The location is along a busy road.  As often happens, I drove by very often.  Without knowing that there was once a large laundry here.

The venue is also much bigger than you expect.  We chose to be the first to explore the area where the laundry was brought in.  We saw large bags hanging from the ceiling, in which the laundry was sorted.  You can also find where the laundry was ironed here.

What we did not expect was that there was also a second part, where laundry was repaired.  There were plenty of carts full of what seemed like just new work clothes from a steel company.  They are still neatly wrapped in plastic.

Hardly to understand that this was left behind?

And then came a nice surprise.  Suddenly we saw a sewing workshop with several industrial sewing machines.  Something like that is really my thing to make nice shots.  Which of course I did.

My story started with maintaining good contacts with friendly urbexers.  Well, it has already yielded me numerous beautiful locations and photos.  This is another good proof of it.
