Xxxxx ist ein internationaler Industrietechnikkonzern mit Sitz in fast 30 Ländern und in einer Vielzahl von Sektoren tätig, darunter Luftfahrt, Automobil, Zement, Stahl, Glas, Aluminium und Logistik. Heute reicht das Angebot von Xxxxx, von isolierten Geräten bis hin zu kompletten Produktionslinien, Werkstätten oder schlüsselfertigen Anlagen. Der Konzern erwirtschaftet einen Umsatz von rund 2 Milliarden Euro und beschäftigte Ende 2019 knapp 8.500 Mitarbeiter.
Zu seinen berühmtesten Errungenschaften zählen die ersten in Frankreich hergestellten Dampflokomotiven und Flugmotoren während des Ersten Weltkriegs.

Das Unternehmen besteht bereits seit 1812 und entstand durch den zusammenschluß von Yyyy (1812) und Xxxxx (1861).

In den mechanischen Konstruktionswerkstätten von Xxxxx, die die Keimzelle des Unternehmens sind und bereits seit 1861 hier stehen, findet man den Hangar aux Elephants. In den 1990´er Jahren wurde hier die Produktion eingestellt und die Hallen standen etliche Jahre leer. Inzwischen wird das gesamte Gelände städtebaulich entwickelt und etliche Gebäude sind bereits entkern bzw. umgebaut.
Es entstehen hier bzw. sind schon fertig gestellt, über 500 Wohnungen, Büroflächen, eine Schwimmhalle, ein großer Park sowie einer Schule.

Man hatte sich, anfangs, auf den Bau von Lokomotiven und Brücken spezialisiert. Einige berühmte Brücken wurden von diesem Unternehmen gefertigt. Später kamen noch Granaten und Flugzeugmotoren dazu.

1918 wurden die Gebäude der Fabrik von Xxxxx demontiert und nach Deutschland gebracht. Während der Besetzung Frankreichs durch die Deutschen wurden hier Kriegslokomotiven für das 3. Reich produziert.

Hauptsächlich wurden in diesen Hallen, Dampfmaschinen (bis 1900), Dampftriebwagen (1879), Dampfwalzen und Lokomotiven (bis 1958) hergestellt

Durch etliche Übernahmen und Zusammenschlüsse ist so einer der größten Technologiekonzerne der Welt entstanden, der auf über 200 Jahre Tradition zurück blicken kann.

Die Elefanten waren Teil einer Ausstellung in der es um regionale und internationale Kultur ging. Sie waren Teil eines Sets von 20 identischen Elefanten, die die indische Kultur repräsentierten und jeweils über 4 Meter hoch waren. 18 der Elefanten gingen im Laufe der Jahre nach Indien. Warum diese 2 noch in der Halle stehen, ist mir nicht bekannt.

C’était une très bonne exploration ! Mon groupe et moi ( 3 ) on est allé Explorer en octobre 2020 plusieurs immenses hanger gardés par un gardien et surveillé par plusieurs détecteur de mouvement a l’intérieur du lieux . On explore tous les hangars qui sont très intéressant avec encore beaucoup de matériel et d’histoire. Mais le plus intéressant est le dernier hangar celui le plus proche du gardien ! Les deux magnifiques éléphants qui ont servis pour un défilé ( je ne peux pas dire lequelle sinon je donne l’adresse). Mais c’était une Explo incroyable ! La beauté et la grandeur de ces éléphants m’ont laissé sous le choc ! Venez Insta pour plus d’histoire et de qualité @urbexcessif !

I just came back from an urbex weekend. I was sitting outside on the terrace and I received a message from @urbex_belgium_jl. Asking if I wanted to go urbex with you. It was already 7 pm but I was very hyped to go. I didn't know where we were going until we met at a parking lot near us. When I saw Lander and Joren she told me we were going to France to a hangar with huge elephants. What a surprise. After a long drive we arrived at the location. Within 5 minutes an alarm was already going off in the building next to the location. We were a bit scared at first, but after such a long drive we really wanted to see those elephants! After checking everything twice, all possible entrances were closed very well. The site was enclosed by a wall of 4 to 5 meters. With pin wire above it. We found a kind of entrance, we had to go over or under two fences. We got to the hangars and soon we found those elephants unbelievably common. Not normal what were they doing here now? After photographing this we suddenly heard a voice. A security guard walked into the hangar. We hid behind some things however we had the feeling that he must have seen or heard us. The man walked by and we started walking. Over and under the gates as quickly as possible and we were safe. We got out of it in the nick of time. Thanks to my wonderful friends for letting me do this venue with them!

Bonjour alors aujourd’hui je vais vous raconter une ancienne exploration ou j’avais encore mon téléphone pour prendre des photos. J’y suis allé plusieurs fois, c’est un endroit très étrange où il y a des éléphants. Dans ces hangars il y a plein de stockage d’un ancien défilé donc je ne peux pas dire le nom. Va insta pour plus d’aventure @urbexcessif .
