Ex manicomio costruito nel 1868, con l’aumentare dei pazienti si raggiunse la costruzione di ben 20 padiglioni. Non era molto chiaro il concetto di “sanità mentale” tant è che il primo paziente fu un ragazzo epilettico. Il complesso cambiò gestione numerose volte, finché con la legge 180 del 1978 si ebbe la totale chiusura del luogo.
