This gorgeous Italian-style castle was built in 1890 for the Erdődy-Pálffy family. They were one of the wealthiest family of their time in Hungary, and thy have many castles, some of them in Italy. This is castle is located in Hungary, but it’s style is mostly Italian, mixed with some romantic and gothic elements.

Finding the location is very easy. The building is near the Danube bank, and there’s a spectacular view from the castle to the Danube. You can easily walk in the open gate, but getting inside the castle is a bit tricky (but possible). There’s an outbuilding next to the castle that’s easier to access, but of course it’s not as beautiful as the main building.

There were plans to make this building a hotel, so the owner started to renovate it. This means that the castle is actually in great conditions. The rich vegetation however shows that the building has been abandoned for a while. The plans for the hotel shattered, and the building is for sale now, it’s price is about 2 million euros.

Since it’s located next to a busy road, the chances of being seen is quite high, so be sneaky if you go there.

There are lots of other abandoned castles and other buildings near this castle, and the city is not too far from the capital, so it's worth a visit for sure!
