The Ginger Bread Castle was abandoned for many years and vandalized by locals. The Castle has been bought and the Owner, Don, is working to re-open it. When I spoke with him he was shooting for a fall festival in 2020. Amanda is the artist that is repainted the interior and restoring the damage murals. Between Don and Amanda there is usually someone in the castle most days. There are several motion alarms, and Hamburg PD payrolls regularly.
