Technically, this place isn´t anything special, but the fact that this was the first spot I ever explored as an urbexer makes it special to me. It´s a pretty small basalt mine in the middle of a forrest in western Germany. There isn´t that much left of the old structures of the mine, but the scenery is very beautiful and during my visit I discovered three lakes in the surrounding area close by. On the other hand, there isn´t that much vandalism in what´s left and the condition of the place didn´t change at all when I re-visited it a few months later.
Mind when you visit this place, you will be seen by other people since the surrounding hike tracks are quiet popular with the locals, but this shouldn´t be a problem since usually nobody cares. The area itself is very easy to access so there are quiet a few people walking around there when the weather is nice.
Set finding out the exact location to "hard" because this place isn´t popular in the scene and since it´s so small, you pretty much only find it when you live nearby or already know where it is.
