Hier zijn geen paarden meer, hier word geen grote Wild West show meer gegeven. Stilte in de ganze manage. En tog toen ik midden instond hoorde ik het trappen van de paarden. Het lachen van de mensen die aan de toog hun zondags pintje dronken en luisterden naar de piano. De sveer kon ik als goed benoemen. Iets anders en tog was het een happy momentje voor mij. Een lost place naar mijn smaak.

In een spontane bui het idee opgepakt om de Rocky Mountain Ranch te bezoeken. Het weer was goed en de afstand te doen. Op de locatie aangekomen zag het van buiten niet echt verlaten uit. Binnenkomen achterom was een makkie, en de wandelaars en fietsers keken niet vreemd op toen ik richting de manege liep.
Het was groot en leek, met nog leuke elementen die me aan Amerikaanse westerns deden denken.De harde wind die s middags begon te waaien zorgde voor een spannend sfeertje. Het gierde werkelijk door de manege.Ik heb er me best een uurtje vermaakt.
Helaas is deze locatie onlangs afgebroken, en dus niet meer te bezoeken. Als eerbetoon dan nog wat fotoś. De fotoś blijven gelukkig voor altijd.

Feeling like being on a ranch in America. Where the horses could run back to their home every moment.

Rocky Mountain Ranch or Manege KJ is an abandoned riding school in Belgium with a lot of typical American elements in it. There are still saddles and the names of some horses are still on the doors of their stables.
History:
In 2019 the riding school no longer met the standards of the municipality and had to be renovated. But there was no money for that so the riding school had to close.

Deze locatie had ik vrij snel gevonden, over het algemeen is de locatie leeg. Aan de andere kant heb je het gevoel dat er ieder moment terug een wedstrijd kan plaatsvinden als je er rondloopt. Er waren heel veel leuke details op deze locatie te vinden zoals de namen van de paarden, de Amerikaanse attributen enz.

One of the undiscovered gems of the urbex world. It's almost completely empty aside from a saddle and some boots but the western theme still remains. When you walk through the saloon doors it's as though you walk into a western. There's American flags everywhere and the stars on the doors also make it look even more American. Apparently it even hasn't been abandoned for that long but there's a lot of spider webs which make you suspect otherwise.
