The field was acquired and used from the beginning by the Artillery as the firing range. Wende's Artillery Regiment (A 3) - regularly practiced there until the closure in 2000.
Shooting field consists of a shooting field closest to the sea with a risk area out to sea and an exercise field adjacent to the shooting field. The area also has a closed airport which was one of the Air Force's airbases.

Armor practice field extends in the north-south direction east of the community and is linked to the firing range. The armor training field was built in the 1970s for the former Northern Skåne Regiment (P 6), which at this time had a great need for a new, more appropriate, exercise field. In the past, an area adjacent to the barracks in northern Kristianstad was used as an exercise field. However, the ground here was very sank and water-sick, which meant that the area was not very well suited for combat vehicle exercises. The armor practice field was used regularly by P 6 until the band was closed down in 1994.

In recent years, the armor training field has been used much less frequently, and this has been done mainly in connection with the large army end exercises held in Skåne.
