In the Hungarian mountain of Börzsöny, Csarna-valley (also known as Blackvalley) is one of the most beautiful hiking trails around. The small creek of Csarna flows through it, and it's so tiny that it's hard to imagine how huge of a disaster it can make when it's flooding. In 1999 the flood was so severe, that it washed out the railroad that runs next to it. It was never restored, and by now, nature partly took it over.

The railroad was built between 1913 and 1919, and was used for carrying wood. It was one of the many railroads in the mountain, some of them still works today, some of them lays abandoned, but this one is hands down the most beautiful, most interesting one of them.

The location is easy to find and acces. There's a safe hiking trail through the valley. It's an easy hike, one can do it with children as well. The only time it's unsafe is during flooding, but it's rare. Noemally the creek is very small.

The forest seems almost untouched there, and it looks mistycal with the mossy ruins of the railroad. It's part of a national park, so it's protected from vandalism.
