W* care home has closed after a health watchdog found residents "were not protected from abuse and avoidable harm". Places is decaying fast on places mask is a defo as mould is bad in places drugs from the care home still in there. Paper (bank details adreess etc) all left and owner could be fined up to 18millions due to data protection. Had over 70 rooms little gym there aswell. Building and staircase beautifu. Neighbours are funny about people visiting the building so approach from the rear and try to be silent. History:
Known formally as W* House, this manor was built in a Palladian style before a fire in 1904 caused it to be rebuilt in the ubiquitous red brick we're all lamentably too aware of.
After use as a manor house it became a boys' prep school and later a care home before being closed in 2016 because of a damning CQC (Care Quality Commission) report which determined 4/5s of the care homes' services to be 'Inadequate

This care home is in a much worse state than the pictures in previous reports show. Water damage has impacted many of the ceilings and there is a large amount of graffiti.

The building itself is beautiful and has an interesting history, it's a shame to see it (and smell it) in this state. It was occupied by Third Viscount Henry Gage in the 18th Century. In the 1850s it was occupied by the Satoris family.

The house, as it stands today, was rebuilt after a fire in 1904. A maid died of shock on the roof of the house in this destructive fire. In 1924 it became a boys school, before being used as used as a care home which was shut down after damming reports on the quality of care. New houses are planned for the site.

The explore itself was fascinating, with lots left in the immense building. Water was seeping through many ceilings and grass had grown in some of the rooms!

Brief history: Care Home W* was once part of a larger estate. The estate was broken up in 1924, when care home W* became a well-known and successful preparatory school, a use that continued for many years, until the 1980s when it was converted into a nursing home. After many investigations and CQC inspections the nursing home was shut down because of neglect and abuse that supposedly took place.

Easy trek and access but a high chance of being seen by angry neighbors.
