Mooie lokatie zonder vandalisme.

This was the place that made fuel for the coalminers! Air pressure was the fuel underground, as they couldn't use fire or electricity or they would blow themselves up. This was the room with gigantic compressors to provide the miners good and lots of air pressure to mine coal, that they later used in the cokes factories or the high steel furnaces.
The red paint makes them stand out in the dark cold room. There is something I admire about that time period and people who worked in the mining, cokes and steel factories. They needed to be hard as rock to come here to work.
Crazy times back then.

when you're "in the area" of course you have to stop by here as well. This place is so beautiful in its own messy and colorful way.
We managed to get some nice shots with the sun breaking in through the decayed roof.
the melted snow of the past weeks and general winter weather put the floors a bit under water, as there are quite some gaps built into the ground that were now filled with water, spooky because the play of the reflecting light made the puddles seem like deep holes in the ground.
The water had this gooey film covering it, I imagine the ground here is so polluted it can never be saved.
However, nature is slowly taking over, which adds to the controversial atmosphere of it all.
