Visit duration    5 hours

Somewhere in the hills of Scotland this large abandoned TB Hospital complex that dates back to WW2 sits rotting. On a brisk day in August my friend and fellow photographer Laura (@fatgirlphotography on Instagram) set off in search of this site. Near by this site was a fully functioning farm we mistook as part of the complex, we soon realized we were not alone. Hearing grunts coming from one of the builds we went to investigate, and we discovered pens full of pigs!! As we exited the farm we saw a few buildings off in the distance, woo hoo!! We found our target!!

There are at least 20 or so buildings on the site and if you find it, it'll take a full day to explore it all! There is everything from a chapel, plenty of building that housed patients including children and infants. Some buildings on the site are full of clothes, uniforms, gurneys, wheelchairs and baby bassinets! While on the grounds we encountered several others, looked more like squatters then explorers. The morgue unfortunately we never found, but plenty of other builds to photograph and explore!!

If you manage to find this location, it is a full day of exploring! So pack a lunch and a dram of your favorite spirit! The grounds lay near homes and depending how you enter you will be seen, but we encountered no problem wondering the grounds.
