Deze locatie zal ik niet snel vergeten. Rond de middag kwamen we aan bij deze locatie, auto geparkeerd niet zo heel ver van de ingang. Om hier binnen te geraken zijn we over een hek geklommen en dan zo langs een open venster op 3m hoogte van de grond. Ik heb hier wat geëxperimenteerd met licht omdat de controle kamer redelijk donker was. Binnen hebben we zeker 3 uur rondgewandeld tot dat er ineens een security man voor mijn camera stond :p. Hij zei ons dat we moesten stoppen met foto's maken omdat we ze toch moesten wissen, dat mijn auto getakeld was en dat ik een boete ging krijgen. Uiteindelijk zeker een uur met de security gepraat over de powerplant en over wat hij ging doen met ons. Hij vertelde ons dat er veel gevaarlijke Roemenen zitten (niet gezien) die ons konden aanvallen en bla bla bla. Er zou zelfs iemand dood zijn teruggevonden hier. (hij liet ons foto's zien) Uiteindelijk escorteerde hij ons naar buiten waar normaal gezien mijn auto en rugzak + camera onderzocht gingen worden maar dat gebeurde echter niet. Mijn auto stond nog steeds op de zelfde plaats waar ik hem heb geparkeerd. Hij heeft foto's van onze identiteitskaarten genomen en een foto van de auto met nummerplaat, voor moesten wij hier nog eens gepakt worden hij de politie kan verwittigen, wat nu dus niet gebeurd is. De man was vriendelijk en begreep onze situatie, en vertelde ons dat we al de 10de waren die hij 'gepakt' had.
Onze foto's hebben we niet moeten wissen, omdat er een kans zou zijn volgens hem dat we een boete krijgen, en we dan nog eens moesten terug komen :P.
Uiteindelijk wanneer we terug buiten waren gaf hij ons een vuistje en zijn we vertrokken. Wanneer ik terug in mijn auto zat en vertrok zag ik 2 mensen over het hek klimmen, en dat had de security ook gezien, dus mochten we beschikken.
Prachtige locatie en zeker de moeite waard als je van industrie houd! Blijf er zeker niet te lang, anders ben je ook gepakt :)

This is still one of the best locations we have visited so far. So many details and the power plant has changed almost nothing compared to the day they closed their doors. Yet that was already 13 years ago. This is something you sadly don't see often in the urbex world anymore. The power station used gas that was released in the making of coke. That plant is also located on the site and was also closed when the Belgian steel industry was no longer profitable.

We also went back just to take additional pictures but got suprised by a copper thief and 15 minutes later we also got suprised by security. But he was nice, only took a picture of our id cards. had to remove pictures but just took out the SD card.

I found the Blue Power Plant in May 2021. I visited the locations near the Power Plant. After that i saw a tunnel on the area and behind the tunnel was a building wich is the Blue Power Plant. I saw a security car on the area and was waiting a few minutes in the tunnel.
I decided to explore the building and found the turbine hall of the Power Plant. What a great kick and what a great location for taking pictures. After a few hours i go back and drive home.
In the evening i saw pictures of the Blue Power Plant and from the great control room.
What the f..k, i didn`t found the control room. 5 days later i drove 300 kilometres back to the Power Plant to find the control room.
This time the door to the turbine hall was closed, so i had to climb to the hall from another point.
I found the control room easily. If i went 2 meter more during my first visit, i wouldn`t have had a second 300 km drive to the Power Plant.
During the second visit a siren sounds on the area, but i don`t know where.
It was a great adrenaline kick to visit the Power Plant!

The Blue Power Plant!
this power plant was part of an old cokes factory that closed in 2008.
After a 2.5 hour drive we finally arrived at the terrain. We explored the factory first, after 30 minutes of exploring our friend warned us, he saw a security van driving around the buildings, after 5 minutes of hiding it was time to enter the power plant. It was amazing! everything was intact including the control room, we spend 2 hours inside the powerplant!

Eén van de locaties van afgelopen zondag: Blue Power Plant.
Dat was een leuk avontuur! Eerst zoeken om (redelijk) ongezien binnen te raken. Dat was een toffe klim! Vervolgens op het gemak alles verkennen, maar steeds oplettend voor de security.
Na een paar uur hier rond te wandelen, en toch al vele leuke foto's te maken, komen we nog een aantal andere urbexers tegen en even een babbeltje gemaakt.
Plots zien we een zaklamp achter ons, en een meneer die zegt "Bonjour, Security". Damn. BUSTED.
De (zeer vriendelijke!) man verzocht ons om ons paspoort te tonen en hij nam er een foto van. Als we nog eens zouden teruggaan, zouden ze het moeten voorleggen aan de eigenaar, en kan er een rechtszaak van komen. Eveneens moesten we de foto's verwijderen. Dit hebben we dan maar gedaan. Hij heeft ons dan op de gemakkelijke manier naar buiten gelaten. We hadden bijna de volledige locatie afgewerkt, maar helaas.
Eens buiten, hebben we snel het SD-kaartje verstoken, met de hoop alles te kunnen recupereren, en verder op pad gegaan naar de volgende locatie.
Gelukkig heb ik alle foto's kunnen recupereren!

This is an abandoned power plant of a large industry somewhere in Belgium. I am not surprised that this part is still in a much better condition than the rest of the buildings. This is normally the most heavily guarded by security. There were once even motion sensors but they have since been knocked out. 😂
It's great to see all these machines under a thick layer of rust and dust. A top location for urbex photos despite there being some vandalism here and there.
Security we didn't notice during our visit. Once you know the entrance it is also quite easy to enter.

Erg grote lokatie die naast een werkende fabriek ligt, we waren hier al eens eerder geweest.
Toen hebben we 3 uur rondgelopen om de mooie controle kamer te vinden, maar was dat niet gelukt.
Dus we besloten om nog een keertje terug te gaan, we waren gelijk in het juiste gebouw.
We besloten gelijk naar de controle kamer te gaan, wat een gave locatie zeg.
Toen we veder gingen kijken hoorde we geluiden, achteraf bleek het de beveiliging te zijn, gelukkig waren we net op tijd weg en zijn we niet gepakt.

Then we walked around for 3 hours to find the nice control room, but we couldn't.
So we decided to go back one more time, we were right in the right building.
We decided to go straight to the control room, what a cool location.
When we took a closer look we heard noises, afterwards it turned out to be security, luckily we left just in time and we were not caught.
