The Curtoni family, after having inherited it by marriage from the Pantini in the early 17th century, maintained the management of the villa for over two centuries, precisely until the first decade of the 19th century; then the complex passed to the Venetian noblemen Grimani, to the Comellos of Milan and to other owners.
The court of Cortalta is accessed by crossing an immense farmyard opens and the eye is immediately captured by the exceptional development of the southern front of the villa, 140 meters long, overlooked by the main house, in the center, and the two sheds (in Italian "barchesse"), on the sides, with two closing towers.
In the courtyard there’re other ruins, such as the house of the “gastaldo” ( the one who administered the estate on behalf of the owner family ), the stables, the blacksmith's and carpenter's shop and more; until the early 60s of the last century, about ninety people lived in Cortalta.
