In the early 20th century, the mining industry was blossoming in this town, so much so that even the train began to run here. The community grew up around the ore mine and the railway. And the mine needed electricity so this power station was built just next to the open mine.
The town increased its population tenfold in a few decades. The mining area became larger, and they even had to move the city centre because there was a risk for the buildings being so close to the growing mine (the ground could cave-in).
History took a gruesome turn and the international ore price fell. In 1970, mining death began, and the younger part of the population in the town moved to other locations. In 1990, the last mine in town closed, but by then the population had already dropped drastically. Many houses were abandoned, most of them are torn down or renovated today but there are many small ruins here and there.

The world's first commercial three - phase power transmission was carried out in Sweden from this converter station in 1893.between two cities, a distance of 15 kilometers.
It was a completely new technology - before that you could only transfer power mechanically over shorter distances with the help of bar corridors.
This converter station is part of a former iron mining town in central Sweden that was active from the 15th century to 1989. in the 70's they had to move the center of the city 500 meters,The railway was also moved a couple of hundred meters due to undermining in the ground. Today, traces of the old town can still be found while parts of the old town have fallen into the mine.
