The hotel’s construction began with high hopes. It was meant to be a luxury retreat, perched in the middle of a forest near a remote swamp area. However, the hotel was never completed, and the reason for its abandonment has sparked speculation among locals and urban explorers alike.
Theories Behind the Closure:
Funding Issues: One theory suggests that the project’s backers ran into financial troubles, and as a result, the funding for the construction dried up. With no money to continue, the project was abandoned, and the building remained half-finished.
Environmental Concerns: Another possible reason is that the hotel was being built on swampy land, and there were concerns about the stability of the structure. The soft, waterlogged ground would have caused significant problems for the foundation, making it unsafe to complete. The land’s instability may have led to the halting of construction.
The truth behind why this hotel never saw its grand opening remains a mystery, but these two theories are the most widely discussed.
The site is now well-maintained and open for public access.

We learned a trick.
Together with my partner in crime, we went to swamp hotel. An incomplete concrete building, damp, surrounded by swamps and on top of that it was a very rainy day. We couldn't have better conditions for playing with fire.
After delving a little into light painting, we found this trick. Our first idea was to try it out on an urbex location. No sooner said than done, we left for the swamp hotel.
We arrived at dusk. Ideal to make photos with a long shutter speed. After a lot of experimenting we ended up with some great results.
Enjoy the photos I created in collaboration with TubbieOnTheRoad.
