Im zwischen Prüm, Stadtkyll und Gerolstein gelegenen Eifler Kammerwald befinden sich einem 605 Meter hohen Hügel zwischen den Gemeinden Duppach und Steffeln die ruinösen Überreste der nie fertiggestellten Adenauervilla – im Volksmund auch „Adenauerhaus“ oder „Camp Konrad“ genannt.

Die Villa war als Freundesgabe für Kanzler Konrad Adenauer (1876-1967, Bundeskanzler 1949-1963) gedacht und sollte diesem als Altersruhesitz, Jagd- und Gästehaus dienen. Wegen eines gewissen Geruchs nach Filz und Korruption und auch, weil der Altkanzler das Geschenk nicht annehmen wollte, wurden die 1955 begonnenen Bauarbeiten bereits im Winter 1955/56 eingestellt.
Durch einen der populären Eifel-Krimis des Autors Jacques Berndorf erlangte die Ruine der Villa nach 1998 wieder etwas Aufmerksamkeit. Ende 2018 wurde ein neuer Besitzer für die Ruine gesucht. Schließlich wurde sie im Januar 2019 samt umgebenden Waldgrundstück für rund 35.000 Euro verkauft.



Between Prüm, Stadtkyrill and the Eifler Kammerwald which is located in Gerolstein is a 605 meter high hill. Located between the local communitys Duppach and Steffeln you can spot the ruinous remains of the Adenauervilla, also called „Camp Conrad".

The mansion was a gift for german chancellor Konrad Adenauer and was intended to be used as his occupational pension house furthermore as a hunting lodge and in addition as a guest house. The 1955 started construction work was stopped in the winter of the same year due to the nasty smell of felt and corruption and because Adenauer refused to accept the gift. Because of a popular thriller written by Jaques Berndorf the abandoned mansion leavings gained attention in 1998. A new owner was wanted for the remains oft he mansion in the end of the year 2018. Finally the mansion was sold with surrounding forest property for about 35.000 euro.
