This is not a "traditional" urbex spot since it has been turned into a tourist attraction a few years ago. The downside of this that you can only take guided tours and not explore freely on your own and there are a lof of people walking around. The upside, however, is that the visit is very safe even for children and elderly people, the site is maintained very well and that you learn a lot about the history when taking a guided tour. And there is good food.
I visited this place twice with my family and every time, it was a wonderful day.

Einer der bekanntesten Lost Places in Brandenburg. Man muss hier einfach mal gewesen sein und das alte Chirurgiegebäude hat auch echt seinen charme! Für Bilder perfekt und mit Adrenalin durch die alten Gänge zu scouten ist einfach sehr spannungsgeladen. Allgemein ein interessanter Ort, der jedoch sehr durch den Verfall und Vandalismus geprägt ist.

Beelitz Heilstätten is a very famous former urbex spot. Today the area is being renovated and some buildings are being used as a tourist attraction. Although, this is a great place to take photos.

The place is an old sanatorium with about 60 buildings originally.

During WWI it was a military hospital, and in 1945 it was occupied by the Red Army. It was a Soviet hospital until 1995, and you can still see the signs in Russians in some of the buildings.

Some of the buildings are still in use neurological rehabilitation centre and for research and care for victims of Parkinson's disease. Others are renovated and used as housing and some still lay in despair. Although, the place is well monitored and there are attempts to keep it like it is for the sake of tourism.

There is also a tree top promenade and many families travel here from berlin during weekends.

Films like The Pianist (2002), Valkyrie (2008), Men & Chicken (2015) and A Cure for Wellness (2016) have been partly filmed here. Rammstein made their music video for “Mein Herz brennt” (2001) in the famous “bathroom”.

I have been here about five times and it’s nice to go to see the changes that are made from every time. My first visit was in 2015 when the left side of the area hadn’t changes much. The whole area was overgrown with ivy and it was very beautiful. I have taken before and after photos that I show on my Instagram.

A popular place for Urbex so needs no introduction!! Access is via a phototour company and they allow you to walk around at your leisure. Just a short train journey from Berlin, it's surrounded by forest. The movies 'Men & Chicken' and 'A Cure for Wellness' were filmed here and Rammstein's 'Mein Herz Brennt' was shot here also.
