We had a driver who drove us into the desert and picked us up again. This enabled us to save around 10 kilometers each way.
The way out was extremely hard and slowly the "Burans" understood what they meant by ".. the way is hard and exhausting .. who you knew you would not do it ..".
After only 2 hours in the desert we had to lie flat on the ground and become one with the few bushes. Then a vehicle drove 10 meters away from us.
The people caught by the military are transferred to Baikonur and then interrogated by the FSB (Russian Domestic Intelligence) for 5-6 hours. The fear of espionage and missile launchers is probably very great, so there is probably a tension in the air. Your own history is also checked, so far everyone has been released (at least from where you learned it: D).
When I arrived at the Buran hangar, I suffered a slight circulatory collapse. After that, we looked for a place to sleep, ate something and slept. Then we went exploring, again we saw vehicles circling and one of them stood suspiciously long at the Energija hangar.
At night we changed the hangar. The sight of the Energija-M rocket was breathtaking!
Here too, when we were exploring with the first rays of the sun, we saw two vehicles standing near the tracks.
In the evening we had to return, in the hangar we heard a helicopter circling the area at 8pm.
We calculated 26 kilometers, out of 10 liters of water I only had 1.5 liters. Under conditions in Germany, you can certainly get by 26 km in an emergency. In the desert, the body begins to dehydrate after one hour, even at night. You notice this with a noticeable drying out of the skin and the mouth.
The first few kilometers went well and there was no pain in the feet. Half a liter of water remained for the last 10 kilometers. We had to stop twice when crossing a main road with rails. Once slow patrol vehicles drove, then a train with four patrols came to guard. In order not to be seen, we had to throw ourselves into spiky bushes, here Mr. X probably took his souvenir with him. Given my condition at the time, I would have immediately called an emergency doctor in Germany. In the desert, however, this option did not exist, it would have taken far too long, and we were already too far away from busy roads to be caught. So there was only the option to make it to the base three hours away with food and water. I stopped drinking and only took a sip of water in my mouth, so that the urge to drink and the dry mouth could be reduced. The extremely sandy floor made things even more difficult, which made running even more strenuous. To make a long story short, the last two hours for Mr. X and me were all about survival.
With the level of knowledge and especially the feelings and changes in the body, what is coming up to me, I would never have started, nor do I ever want to experience dehydration of this magnitude again in my life.
When I got to the camp I was able to spice things up relatively easily and I was fine again. Mr. X had major problems and again collapsed due to the heat and exertion. A strange stain was later discovered in Mr. X's, the first suspicion of a scorpion bite was not confirmed. It was just a snake: D. It was extremely lucky that he did not have an allergic reaction to it, otherwise it would probably have been ...
