The castle was built in 1763 in the Kingdom of Hungary by the Hellenbach family. Next to an also abandoned English garden, the building was once a baroque style castle, but later was renovated in classicist style. In it's better days, the castle was a center of culture, and many famous Hungarian people visited it (like Széchenyi István, Erkel Ferenc).

The castle now stands abandoned in Slovakia, near the Hungarian border. Someone bought it about 30 years ago, but only had money to demolish the roof, so the building is soaking inside when it rains. This led to rich vegetation on the inside.

The castle is easy to find and not very hard to get in, even if there are three fences around it. The first two fences' gate is open, and the third is easy to climb. The condition of the building is bad, but the lawn is pretty much taken care of around it.

The most beautiful part is a portico (I believe it was a library, but I don't know it for sure) with the gorgeous pillars.
