The old mental hospital in Manteno, Illinois used to be a great place to visit and see the horrors of what happened back in the day. As of lately, the hospital has been repurchased by the VA and is now only serving VA patients, most all facilities knocked down or re-purposed for that. Still a fun trip and you can drive around the facility to view the old buildings last I checked.
