The stadium was built in 1948 and sits on the campus of Morris Brown College. This 15,011 seat stadium has been left abandoned due to financial hardships. In 1996 it was used for summer Olympics for field hockey and in 2006 it was used to film “We Are Marshall”. We we went and visited the site there seemed to be only one easy entrance point, the was one other person there (maybe homeless) but they did not bother us. The school building on the campus have been caught on fire and are not safe to enter. There is supposedly a gym and pool that we did not find. But beware because YouTube videos have reportedly a homeless camp in the gym if found.
