Visit date    January 20 2021 at 15 hr
Visit duration    1 hour

Last week we were on tour in the south of Belgium.
After 3 successful visits we also had some fails.
On the way back home, a little dissapointed, we passed a little collapsed house somewhere along the road.
We decided to give it a try.
At first sight there was not much to discover.
Everything was hidden under debris and trash.
We made a few pictures of some religious statues, a barrel and the ancient stove and planned to continue our way home.
Because I never skip the attic when I visit a location I went upstairs for a quick peep.
The rotten stairs were already half dissapeared and it was dangerous to step on it.
Upstairs are 3 rooms or at least what’s left of them.
The biggest room has a bed and 2 closets.
Under the pieces of the collapsed ceiling we found a lot of items that were out of sight.
With our new found treasures we decorated the entire room like it was a Anton Piek painting.
When my companion was almost finished taking his pictures I lifted a heavy piece of wood and what I found there I’ve never seen before in an abandoned house
A giant silver crucifix under a glass bell jar waited to be discovered for probably decades, the bell collected 3mm of dust and in fact the cross underneath was the only shiny thing left in the entire house.
We placed it in the centre to make the decor complete.
Staging is still a controversial act but haters will always hate and haters also belong to my most true followers.
