Bezoek in een koude herfstochtend. Als je weet waar je moet zijn, rijd je er zo naar toe. Binnenkomen was ook een fluitje van een cent. Eenmaal binnen word je overweldigd door de grote hoeveelheid trappen en verdiepingen, die eigenalijk allemaal open zijn. Doordat het een grote betonboel is, ben je al snel het overzicht kwijt. Vond het een leuke locatie maar gelet op de eenvoud -alles lijkt op elkaar- niet de moeite van een re-visit.

Deze locatie is het mooiste als het mooi weer is vanwege de lichtinval. Ik stond versteld van de hoeveelheid trappen . Erg stoffige locatie maar ik vond het heel bijzonder.We hebben rustig de tijd genomen daar.
Ik vond het van buiten ook een prachtig gebouw.
Toegang was met een beetje klimwerk goed te toen.
Beneden aan de voorkant van het gebouw zijn ook nog wat ruimtes die nogal gesloopt zijn.

Mit Geldern aus dem amerikanischen Marschallplan wurde diese Kohlenwäsche 1954 errichtet.
Die Anlage war bis 1969 in Betrieb, als das Kohlebergwerk in Bxxxxx geschlossen wurde. In den folgenden Jahren wurde das Innere des Gebäudes abgetragen und hinterließ einen gigantischen Betonkorpus.
Es wurde 2003 vor dem Abriss bewahrt, als es unter Denkmalschutz gestellt wurde.
Die Aufgabe der Kohlenwäsche ist die Verunreinigungen aus der Kohle, hauptsächlich Schiefer, herauszuwaschen.
In einer Flüssigkeit schwimmt dann die Kohle oben und der Schiefer sinkt zu Boden.
Danach kommt sie in ein Sieb und wird nach Größe sortiert. Diese wird dann, entsprechend den Anforderungen der Kunden, verkauft.
Die Kapazität lag bei 3.000 Tonnen täglich.
Die Kohle wurde über ein Förderband direkt vom Schacht angeliefert.
Das Gebäude ist ein riesiger Würfel der rund 30m breit, 34m lang und 30m hoch ist und hat 25 Ebenen.
Zwischen 2005 und 2009 hatte man angefangen zu renovieren. Allerdings wurden die Arbeiten dann wegen Geldmangel eingestellt.

Weird vibe in that building. Easy acces, didn't see camera's, but the place feels like it can fall apart any moment. Somebody is fixing the windows every now and then.
We read somewhere on the internet that a part is still used for storage of some stuff. Didn't see that, but we haven't checked out the whole place. The cement is crumbling everywhere. It's weird.
Watch where you walk, the stairs are missing steps here and there.
