A perfect example of an Irish convent. Built in 1864 for the Sisters of Mercy, it eventually served as a girl's boarding school. The local boys school eventually jointed to form a mixed secondary school. It closed its doors in 1999.
Access is tricky with the only point of access being found around the back, and to reach this one must go through the gates and past a functioning school, past the south side and get through a gate/wall at the west side. No security present though. It is mostly boarded up, so torches are a must have inside. Loads of long corridors, some relics left behind. The Chapel is the true gem of this location, with plenty of good shots. YouTube: search "Abandoned Irish Convent exploration"
